Fishing Buddy

How can i modify my aviva fishing buddy so a carp or catfish doesn't pull it under and drag it away?

I don't want to do anything to the motor and going to put stronger line on it. But besides that.

  1. It comes with 2# test line. A large fish should snap that before it is a problem. The big annoyance is the short retrieval pole means wet and muddy feet in most cases. This looks like a nice fun toy to be used once or twice and then it becomes another piece of closet clutter.
  2. tie floats to the side. But dont just lightly lie them on so they flop around. Make it an "Extension" of the boats width. Glue it on or tie it really tight. Or even tie a line onto the boat so if it does you can just pull it back!
  3. fish in water shallower than the line length and you may have less of a problem. you might even add a piece of elastic to "give" and not allow a fish to put all of it's weight on it.
